The 43408 is intended to be used with the 43347 RTD probe.
Delta temperature measurements used two 43408s attached at different heights. One of the 43408s was attached to the mast of a UT20 tower or UT30 tower (20 and 30 ft measurement heights, respectively) using the 7515 Tower Aspirated Shield Mount. The 7515 bracket remains available for customers who own a 43408 (see Ordering Info tab); the bracket is not required for the 43502.
For the 2 m measurement, the 43408 was attached directly to two of the tower legs using the mounting brackets included with the 43408.
Ambient air was drawn past the RTD probe by a continuous duty, brushless dc blower that drew 420 to 480 mA at 12 to 14 Vdc. A 115 Vac to 12 Vdc (outputs up to 800 mA) transformer was included with the shield.
